Anyway, on Tuesday, we decided to take the boys to see the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History since they are getting old enough to appreciate such things. We didn't get an early enough start, so parking was a problem at the Metro - okay, it was NOT possible - so we drove into DC ('cuz that's a better idea!). Parking there was also not easy, but we finally found a metered spot and it wasn't that far from our destination.
On the way across the mall to the museum we decided to stop and pose with some of the other attractions of the area...here are Roger and the boys in front of the Capitol building...
Me and the boys with the Washington Monument behind us...
We really did a quick run-through in the museum, but then again, if we took our time we would have lost the boys' interest. So, we hit the highlights - the cavemen, the dinosaurs, and the Hope diamond. Jed was really into whales at the end of the school year, so he was proud to pose with his little brother and this very large specimen hanging from the ceiling!
And, here they are with a very large t-rex skull...yikes!
We had lunch in the museum cafe, then headed back to the car and drove over to the Lincoln Memorial. Jed was interested in that. Here are a few shots of the boys in various places around that memorial. I love this first photo of them on the steps...

And, the day didn't end there...
