So, here are the boys with Connie as Jed lights the first candle for Hanukkah.
And, here's Connie enjoying the opening of the first prezzie for Hanukkah.
Kit and Connie showing what the gift was (a lighted menorah and dreidel).
And, my favorite picture of Connie that weekend is this one. Kit was so happy to have Connie - he wanted to take her everywhere. And, he was adamant that he sleep with her that night...this was taken the next morning after he had crawled into my bed...with Connie.
He even took her on the doggie walk (in the clear backpack)...
And, she went to a birthday party with us...
On Saturday evening, Roger had returned (bringing Dane with him), and we all attended the 101 Menorahs Hanukkah Celebration at the Temple. Of course, Connie was included. She immediately was posed holding a candle in Randi's menorah. This is my second favorite Connie photo.
Here we all are with the Ortiz family.
Connie eating M&Ms...
Now we're going to segue into 101 Menorahs because we're already here, and the stories are intermingled... They provided these cool glasses for the kids. When you looked through them at any light (candlelight, lamp light, whatever), you saw either dreidels, menorahs, or Jewish stars. Kit was such a generous boy that night too - I was so proud of him - a little girl that they are friends with didn't have a pair of glasses on her table, and we had three pair at ours, so Kit gave her his glasses. What a sweet boy! Here they are wearing their glasses...
Here they are lighting our menorah...
Jed playing dreidel...
Nice picture of Roger and Kit...
And, now, back to Connie...as the night wore on, Kit wore out. Though he looks incredibly sad in this picture - he's just tired.
However, since he opened up his bag of chocolate Gelt before we got home and ate most of it, he was hitting his second wind by the time we arrived there.
And, then it was time to open the next gift...with Connie looking on...what a busy night!
I thought that Kit would have put up a fight about taking Connie back on Monday, but he didn't. He was okay with turning her back into Becky that morning. But, Becky tells me that Connie and her journal will be auctioned off at the Silent Auction in February....who knows...Kit might get lucky (and it will probably be the most expensive stuffed animal ever purchased as every kid in the class wants her)!
